Biography - Outside the Iron

Steve Mann was born in 1975 near Scranton, Pennsylvania to John and Kathleen Mann. What could have been the first sign of a future powerlifter, he was a 9 lb 13 oz baby. Steve has one older brother, Dr. John Mann III DMD, who runs marathons in his spare time.

Steve graduated Abington Heights High School in 1994, he then went on to Penn State University, where he earned a Business Logistics degree in the spring 1999. While Steve was a student at Penn State he did multiple full time internships with International Business Machines (IBM Inc.) in Fishkill, New York.

After graduation Steve took a job working for IBM Inc. as a SAP SD Business Data Analyst in Poughkeepsie, New York, he has primarily worked in IT related Supply Chain / Logistics initiatives.  Steve is currently working for Geodis Supply Chain Optimisation (GSCO), a leading edge Supply Chain company which originates out of France.  He is an IT Project Manager, deploying EDI and web tracking enhancements for GSCO clients, including IBM.

Steve has been married since 2002 to Jenny Lee Mann. He is the father of 4 children Jacob 10, Kaylee 7, Zach 5 and Kaitlyn 4.

The Mann Family resides in Steve's home town Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. He is proud to be a “Powerful” Christian father who is working everyday to be a good father and husband, along with being an elite Powerlifter.
