Biography - Outside the Iron

Steve Mann was born in 1975 near Scranton, Pennsylvania to John and Kathleen Mann. What could have been the first sign of a future powerlifter, he was a 9 lb 13 oz baby. Steve has one older brother, Dr. John Mann III DMD, who runs marthathons in his spare time.

Steve graduated Abington Heights High School in 1994, he then went on to Penn State University, where he earned a Business Logistics degree in the spring 1999. While Steve was a student at Penn State he did multiple full time internships with International Business Machines (IBM Inc.) in Fishkill, New York.

After graduation Steve took a job working for IBM Inc. as a SAP SD Business Data Analyst in Poughkeepsie, New York. Steve is currently working for Geodis in the Supply Chain Optimization division, which supporting IBM Inc. as a Project Manager working with teams globally. He has over 10 years experience working in the Supply Chain Technology industry.

Steve has been married since 2002 to Jenny Lee Mann. He is the father of a son Jacob who was born in 2004 and daughter Kaylee who was born in December 2006. Steve and Jenny are also foster parents to two younger birth siblings born in 2008 and in late 2009. Yes that's 4 kids, ages 8 and under.

The Mann Family resides in Steve's home town Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. He is proud to be a “Powerful” Christian father who is working everyday to be a good father and husband, along with being an elite Powerlifter.
